WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Charlie Wilson (OH-6) lauded President Obama’s signing of the Veterans Health Care Budget Reform and Transparency Act today.

The legislation authorizes Congress to approve investments in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) medical care one year in advance, and also requires the President to request those funds one year in advance.

It will ensure reliable and timely funding to support the delivery of high quality medical care for our veterans – providing time for the VA to plan how to deliver the best care to an increasing number of veterans with increasingly complex medical conditions.

“We owe our veterans a debt of gratitude. I have consistently supported our men and women in uniform, and this legislation ensures they will continue to receive the best medical care possible,” Wilson said. “The health care needs of our veterans are increasingly complicated. This bill makes sure the VA can dedicate enough time and consideration to each veteran and medical case they encounter.”
